High Peak’s Christian Iddon posted his best performance of the season so far, at round nine of the World Supersport Championship came to Silverstone.
The ParkinGO MV Agusta rider qualified on the front row of the grid and then battled bravely as he went on to claim an impressive fifth-placed finish.
With plenty of experience of the Silverstone circuit, having won the British Supersport race here last year, Iddon was competitive right from the outset.
Afterwards he commented: “It has been a great weekend for the ParkinGO MV Agusta Corse team.
“I was thrilled with a front row start and again with a top five finish. It highlights how much progress the team have made this season.
“Fifth is a great result and I want to thank the team and all of my fans for their continued support.
“We have the summer break now, which is a bit of a shame because I just want to ride again. Hopefully we can take this form on to Germany next month and continue to challenge.”
