Jesters Fight Club’s new rising star Declan ‘giant slayer’ Ward travelled to Dudley to compete on the British Light Continuous Council kickboxing circuit.
Declan (ten) faced Richard Jandrell from Ellesmere Port, who has been competing on the points and light continuous circuit for the last five. Declan only started training 18 months ago, giving the Ellesmere Port lad a huge advantage. Undeterred, Declan took off at a fast pace, putting Richard firmly on his back foot, fighting for space. Richard landed clean kicks but was no match for Declan’s pace and fitness, showing all the hours in the gym had paid off as he pushed on to a unanimous points win, taking his record to three fights unbeaten.
Next up for the Matlock-based gym will be Adam Goskowski fighting under boxing rules and Jesters Fight Club female instructor Rachel Rose fighting under full contact kickboxing rules in Aylesbury on June 10. Adam will be having his second fight after winning his debut in Matlock last February.
