With two water polo friendly games planned for this month, Matlock’s injury list continues to grow causing concern for the club with the youngsters set to be thrown in at the deep end.
Mike Glancy is the latest to join the long term injury group after it was revealed this week that a cruciate ligament injury could force him out for up to nine months.
“This is not confirmed, but it is looking likely. The scan will reveal all,” said Glancy.
Coach Richard Sellors has knee surgery next month and Andy Massey’s back complaint sees December as his earliest return.
Jon Clarke and Colin Ingley continue to recuperate and Amy Pearson is still having a knee problem assessed.
Matches against Stafford and Manchester University are planned for November and these will provide a good opportunity for the youngsters coming through, especially with so many senior players being absent.
Meanwhile, club members were delighted to hear this week of the engagement of legal adviser Jenny Byrne and club sponsor and former player Alan Baxter.
