Wheelchair basketball star Maddie Thompson is set to compete in the under-25 European Championships this week after being selected by Team GB.
The 18-year old from Hope Valley will be hoping to follow up her achievements at the recent senior European Championships where she helped GB scooped a bronze medal.
Maddie and her fellow under-25 players will head into battle at the birthplace of the Paralympic Games, Stoke Mandeville Stadium in Aylesbury, where they will take on Germany and the Netherlands tomorrow (Friday) and Saturday.
Reflecting on the squad GB Coach Mat Foden said: “We have six of the team from the U25 World’s two years ago and six new faces playing in their first U25 tournament, so it’s great we have athletes coming through our system.
“Selections are always difficult, but we looked at the line-ups we are likely to play and it came down to who best suited those line-ups.”
