YOUNG Darley Dale gymnast Molly Diggle has secured a silver medal at the recent East Midlands General Gymnastic Association’s four-piece competition.
The Darley Dale Primary School pupil was representing Amber Valley Gymnastics Club and gained the medal in the ten-year-olds age category.
The competition was held at New College, Leicester with 59 gymnasts from 11 different clubs taking part. The gymnasts took part in the competition on the beam, bar, floor and vault.
Proud mum Sarah explained: “Molly came fourth in the two-piece section last year so we were hopeful that she’d do well this time around in the four-piece. It involved four different disciplines – beam, vaults, floor and bar – and obviously anything can happen on the day, but it all went well so we are pleased for her.
“Molly attends one or two two-hour practice sessions a week so it was nice to see her hard work has been rewarded.”
