Minis will take it to the max

MATLOCK Rugby Club stages its ninth annual Mini Rugby Festival on Sunday, May 1.

The event is for players aged 6-12 and is to be held on Cromford Meadows. There will be 88 teams involved from 20 different clubs around the region and further across the UK, with well over 1,200 players taking part.

Festival organiser John Bance said “The object of the day is for as many players as possible to play rugby and enjoy themselves. There is competition but the primary purpose is involvement and enjoyment”.

The action starts at 10.30am for the players but there will be an all-day barbecue, teas, coffees and cakes, trade stalls, and the bar is open from noon.

Everyone is welcome to come down and enjoy a day of local sporting action.
