the second round of the Ladies Trophy Cup took place on Tuesday at Matlock Golf Club.
Played over two separate days, the cup was won by Raili Turk by eight shots with a nett 74 and 67.
The runner-up was Pat McGivern with a nett 77 and 72.
The Juniors medal number four was held on Wednesday with Adam Quinn the winner with a 96 (28) 68.
In second place was James Morrell with a 71 (2) 69.
On Thursday, the Ladies Bronze Team halved their match away at Ashbourne, confirming their place in the semi–finals for the Bronze Trophy while on Saturday, the Captains Team played at home against an excellent Erewash, losing 4-2. The Scratch Team also played at home to Ashbourne, losing 6-4.
With conditions again getting hotter and more humid, medal number seven was held on Sunday.
The winners were: Division One’s Ian Marsden 72 (6) 66, Division Two’s Charlie Hodgkinson 78 (13) 65, Division Three’s Chris Taylor 81 (14) 67, Division Four’s Chris Newton 80 (20) 60. The ladies’ winner Ruth Rathstrick net 66.
Matlock Golf Club is holding an open weekend on August 6-7 for gentlemen, ladies and juniors interested in playing golf and joining the club.
