BAkewell Golf Club hosted the 16th Bakewell Rotary Club Annual Charity Golf Competition last week with one team achieving a record score.
The 18 teams of four who entered the Am Am best two-ball Stableford registered excellent scores with only one team scoring less than 70 points.
The most remarkable result was by the winning team from Baslow Insurance, Bakewell, captained by Guy Rosewarne, which notched up a score of 95 points, a record for the competition. This was backed up by an exceptional round of a gross 63 by Gary Levick of Hallows Golf Club, playing off a four handicap. This was five strokes under the par of 68 for the Bakewell course. Team captain Guy Rosewarne also notched up the longest drive at the 10th.
Second came the “Back Door Boys” with a score of 90 points, captained by Adrian Woodhouse. This was supported by an eagle scored on the par four seventh hole by David Finney of Bakewell Golf Club. Third came last year’s winners, the Gibbs & Sons team, with 85 points.
