AN increase in the rod average for the final week of August at Carsington Fishery was pleasing for all concerned, and hopefully it will continue to rise throughout September.
Fish have been generally caught on the east side of the reservoir in deeper water, and many fish have been found by drifting either along or out from the bank.
The rod average for last week was 2.50 with 125 fish caught by 50 anglers. The heaviest rainbow was 3lbs caught by Mr Neale. There were no recorded browns caught.
At the northern end of the water, fishing has been at its best in the deeper water between Tower Bank, Middlewood and Stitch Plantation.
There has also been some good fishing on intermediate lines early and late on in the day.
