Runners turn out in force for Whitworth Threat race

The popular Whitworth Threat race saw 114 runners wind their way around the four lap 5k cause on a breezy Autumnal Saturday.

This race is also part of Matloclk Athletic Club’s U12 and U16 Junior GP.

The overall winner was Luke Beresford, of Ripley RC, in 17.13 with Matlock’s Colin Davenport taking second place in 17.56, Craig Allen third in 18.43 and Andy Lessiter fourth in 19.02.

Simon Croft was first MV50 home in 19.50, with Hayley Cameron was first lady home in 22.28 with Matlock’s Kate Ruffell taking second spot in 22.40.

Gaining valuable GP points in the U12s Matlock’s Rhys Lessiter was first home in 22.42 and first girl was Olivia Allen in 22.52.

In the U16 Aiden Broadbent was first in 23.17 and Lily Phillips first girl in 23.35.

Other juniors gaining GP points were Tom Burch, James Briggs, Jacob Rifkin, Freya Lester, William Croft, Matthew Foreman, Laura Broadbent, Mae Beresford, Luke Berrisford and Isabelle Lester.
