THE annual White Lion Boules Competition was held recently at the pub in Starkholmes.
Once again, this pairs competition was well supported with teams from far and wide competing for the White Lion Cup and with the first round losers fighting for the Pete Young Plate.
The day was warm, the beer was cool and the atmosphere was described as brilliant by those taking part.
The eventual winners of the White Lion Cup were Tim Bown-Brownridge and Ben Wagstaffe with the runners up being Robert Worrall and Ben Leaney.
The Pete Young Plate was won by Robbie Thompson and Steve Kinder with the runners up named as John Bell and Scott Cowley, the landlord of the White Lion.
A donation from this year’s event is going to MacMillan Nurses.
Organisers would like to thank all helpers, supporters and competitors on the day for making it such a wonderful event.
