Triathletes get stuck in

MEMBERS of High Peak Triathlon Club have been getting in plenty of racing at events right across the country.

Carol and Elizabeth Brooks raced at Rossendale Triathlon in freezing conditions, survival being the name of the game.

Nigel Crithlow is having a great start to the season.

He came 258th out of 4,500 at Blenheim and had already knocked three minutes from his previous time at Cheshire Tri to finish 37th this year.

Nicky Dick is also having a good start, taking first place in her age group in the British Aquathlon at Birmingham, repeating the win at the British Off Road championships at Coniston, and taking sixth at the Sprint Championships.

A fourth in the first age group race of the season in Northampton meant a place in next year’s Europeans in Turkey.

Meanwhile Si Cocksey and Mat Ivings have spent the winter putting in the miles for the Outlaw Ironman at the end of the month.

Spring meant a couple of long build-up races for them. Si paced a perfect race at the Beaver and Mat took 17th place at Ashbourne duathlon.
