This Friday at 5pm, the Arc introduces taster mini-polo sessions that will hopefully produce players of the future and enjoyment of the game for all who attend for years to come.
Experienced players Rich Flint and Kevin Sellors are due to conduct this week’s session with other coaches to follow in the next few weeks.
Kevin, who retired from the game a few years ago and now competes as a triathlete, reported from a training camp in France this week to say that he is delighted to be involved.
“I have had over 40 years’ fitness and competitive pleasure from aquatic sport and I hope these sessions will help to start others on the same journey.”
Kevin denied being abroad to evade payment for the Matlock Water Polo Cup at the time of going to press.
The second Matlock Bath Derwent swim on Thursday saw eight club members swim for the Tiny Tim Trust supported by one of the Charity’s Trustees, namely Mary White.
Amy Pearson summed things up perfectly by saying: “Downstream I felt like Michael Phelps. Upstream I felt like giving up, it was so tough. I did it though and would like to have another go in August.”
Amy was believed to be of sound mind and character at the time of writing.
