THERE was an exciting finish yet again to the Matlock Junior Open Golf Competition.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Eric Grattage, Matlock Golf Club president, and William Twigg Matlock Ltd, youngsters playing in the Matlock Junior Open were treated to a superb prize table.

In cool, damp and sometimes rainy conditions players still managed to produce some wonderful scores.

Three nett 66s made for a very interesting finish with John Jarman from Hallows GC (Dronfield) taking the Best Overall Nett and the Matlock Junior Open Trophy on a countback. Zac Davidson (1st nett Div.2) Breadsall Priory GC and Lewis Parker (2nd nett Div.2) Bakewell GC were holding the other two 66s.

Nathan Lee of Ashbourne GC won the Boys Best Gross with a Gross 72.

In the Girls event, three nett 72s were involved with Aimee Wilson, Mickleover GC taking 1st nett on a countback from Emily Morris of Matlock GC and Jodie Peacock of Sherwood Forest GC winning the Girls Best Gross with a gross 74 nett 72.
