Chesterfield athletes take part in virtual shot put

Four Chesterfield & District Atheltics Club athletes took part in two virtual shot put competitions this months.

The events were organised by the Valhalla Throws Academy and took on 2nd and 25th May.

Each athlete threw in gardens or parks with parents measuring, with makeshift lines used instead of a shot put circle.

The 2nd May results were as follows; U15 boy Jacob Peers-Wain 5.14m, U15 girls Izzy Fellows 8.60m, Lottie Hall 8.04m. Josh Turkington threw 9.05m in the U17’s men’s implement.

In the second event, Turkington threw 9.50m, Izzy 8.78m, Lottie Hall 7.50m and Peers-Wain 6.03m.

The virtual event saw athletes from all over the world taking part, with £2,000 raised for NHS charities.
