The Matlock man bowled a brilliant spell of 9-6-7-5 to guide his side to victory.

Runs seemed fairly easy to come by, given so many got a start, but only Matt Parry (35) and Oliver Hubbard, with 37 competed with an extras score of 35.

Meghan Mann (4-33) and Alex Archer (2-15) took wickets at regular intervals, as Matlock once again were bowled out with overs to spare.

In reply Daniel Russ (37) and Alex Archer (41) made their sedate march towards the target, the pace of which was understandable, given that they had 48 overs in which to score 164, but pressure applied sometimes makes funny things happen.

With all bowlers keeping the runs to a trickle at one end, and great support being given by Chris Rowan (2-33) at the other, that pressure told and important wickets fell.

With Archer holing out to a relieved Simon Edwards at deep cover, and Phil Braund taking a stunner at Long Off, the game swung in Matlock's favour, the final wicket taken by Haslam.
