Saturday should have seen the White Peak Running Festival take place and the launch of the ‘Down in a Shot 10k’, which would have been one of the fastest 10k races in the country.

The planned route was a starting point near Middleton Top, before following the High Peak Trail for the long descent to Cromford Canal and then a finish in Cromford Meadows.

But, with the easing in the lockdown restrictions, the club did run the Virtual Ian Milne Marathon.

This virtual event took place over four days from Friday 15th to Monday 18th May and was open to all club members, with a range of distance options open to the various age categories.

Over the four day period members completed their preferred distance over one, two, three or four legs.

The club also held a Virtual Run-Bike-Run Duathlon starting over the VE Day weekend.

The Seniors undertook a five mile run, a 10 mile bike and finally a three mile run.
