The previous clubs, formed in 1858 and 1865 respectively, were keen to retain parts of their former logos.

Indeed the only element that's new, yet has been part of the area for just as long, is Riber Castle itself (1862)!

A club spokesman said "There were many great ideas put forward by the pupils of St Giles, and in the end we agreed upon a combination that many used, of both past badges, and the most dominant feature of the Matlock landscape. A united club is important, and we think this is a good start.”

All players are now looking forward to the new season, with the Government roadmap to end lockdown paving the way for a full season.
