Rain takes centre stage

ONCE again the rain took centre stage on Saturday in the Yorkshire and Derbyshire Cricket League.

Only one game was completed in the top flight.

At Calver, visitors Sheffield Centralians made a useful 210-9, then bowled out Calver for 91.

This relegates Calver and makes Cents all but safe.

Hathersage’s game at Hundall never got underway, meaning Hathersage are staring down relegation from the top flight.

As in Division One, only a solitary fixture was completed in Division Two.

Ridgeway were all out for 84, a total Baslow attained for the loss of one wicket.

This eases Baslow’s relegation worries, but means Ridgeway are teetering on the brink of relegation along with Ashford.

Dronfield Woodhouse made 142 all out but rain forced the game to be abandoned when Bakewell reached 125-4, which means Dronfield are doomed to relegation.

As in Division Four, there was no game in Division Five.

This means that the promotion race remains between Civil Service II, Collegiate V, Hundall II and Baslow II
