Report emphasises Impact of RDSSP’s sporting plans

The Rural Derbyshire School Sport Partnership has published its 2013 Impact Report.

The year was an important one for school sport partnerships with the government having introduced the new, ring-fenced ‘Sport Premium’ fund to improve the provision of sport and PE in primary schools.

The Partnership ran more than 100 events in 24 different sports and activities involving school teams, competing 540 times.

More than 1,500 pupils took part in cross country running events alone, and the initiative also trained 350 Young Leaders to help deliver events and activities in primary schools, as well as running five inclusion/disability events involving school teams, competing 19 times.

RDSSP Partnership development manager Janice Price said: “Investment from our cluster primaries allows us to offer even more events, programmes and coaching resources for everyday activity, physical education, inclusion and disability and club and community links as well as offering talent pathways and added value programmes and training.”
