Rowsley take a point from crucial encounter

Midlands Regional Alliance Round-up.

Last weekend saw a key clash in the Midlands Regional Alliance Premier Division take place as title hopefuls Rowsley 86 and Melbourne Dynamo went head-to-head.

The game looked to be going in Rowsley’s favour after Dynamo’s Matthew Jones was dismissed midway through the first-half and Tim Baker fired the hosts in front from the spot.

However, Dave Brough came off the bench to rescue Dynamo with a late equaliser which kept their unbeaten record intact.

Another late equaliser rescued a point for Wirksworth Town at Newhall United.

The hosts had led 2-1 with goals from Matt Draycott and Mick Kirkland but Lewis Land’s 92nd minute leveller saw the points shared.

Derby Rolls Royce Leisure stay in contention after goals from Sean Gordon (2), Ash Foster, James Buck, Davy Hamson and Tom Allan helped to a 6-0 win at Matlock Sports.

Rowsley 86 Reserves top Division One after a 5-2 victory at Tibshelf.

Brett Gibb and Paul Holmes struck for the home side, but goals from Henry Broatch, Connor Hiley (2) and James Wood (2) won it for Rowsley.

Wirksworth Ivanhoe won by the only goal of the game against Derby Singh Brothers to keep up the pressure on the leaders, Spencer Craig with the winner in a match where he was also sent off.

Aaron Hall’s hat-trick helped Derby Rolls Royce Leisure Reserves to a 3-2 win at Ambergate.

In Division Two, Stapleford Town keep up the pressure at the top after goals from Charlie Cotterill, Davey Gallagher, and Scott Pickard saw them win 3-0 at Ambergate Reserves.

The was a welcome three points for Bargate Rovers Reserves after goals from Luke Britland and Luke Burman saw them beat Matlock Town CFA 2-0.

Willington Sports stay bottom after goals from Edward Bowler, Luke Gostkowski, Dean Higton, and Matt Redshaw saw Wirksworth Town Reserves beat them 4-1.
