The Hawks, who at present operate out of Castleton, are believed to be discussing the move with their union counterparts.

The move, if it goes through, would see the current Hawks side play their home games in Buxton.

A spokesperson said: “Moving Hope Valley Hawks over to Buxton would be a viable option compared to at present.

“There they would be able to take advantage of the clubhouse, there would also be a good base and a good set-up.

“There were eight or nine Buxton players playing for the Hawks last season during the union off-season so Buxton were really the catalyst to helping keep the Hawks going.”

It is not yet known whether the club are planning to withdraw from the North West League.
