Matlock Town hope to announce an exciting new major sponsorship deal soon.
It would involve the renaming of the Reynolds Stadium in what chairman and commercial manager Tom Wright describes as a “lucrative investment” in the football club.
Mr Wright (pictured) says that the identity of the company must stay under wraps for now.
He added: “We’ve been negotiating with one of the largest businesses in North Derbyshire and we’re confident that this new major sponsorship deal will come off.
“I can say that these negotiations are ongoing and we’re well down the line in having a new stadium sponsor, but until the i’s are dotted and the t’s are crossed, we need to keep the company’s identity a secret.
“But it’s encouraging to know that businesses are interested in Matlock Town and the company would be making a lucrative investment in our club.
“It would be a great deal for us, particularly in these financially challenging times.”
Vice president Dave Reynolds is the current stadium sponsor and has been working hand-in-hand with Mr Wright to secure the new deal.
