The fishing this week has remained quite steady and a lot of the comments on the catch returns have described their day as enjoyable despite the fish putting up a bit of a fight.

The ever changing water levels have seen the fish move towards the middle area of the reservoir and still anglers are reporting more activity from the fish in the afternoon and early evening.

The rod average for last week was 3.1 with 179 fish caught by 58 anglers.

The best rainbow was 5lb caught by Mr Baggaley. The largest brown caught was 2lb and was caught by Mr Priestley.

The areas that have fished well this week have been across the middle of the reservoir, the mouth of fishtail creek, near to buoy six, sitch plantation and the dam wall.

A lot of anglers have been successful with floating lines and dry flies this week. The black patterns have been very popular this week; anglers have reported catches using montanas, daddies, hoppers, black spider bibios and lures. Other patterns have included hare’s ears, boobies and cats whiskers.
