Wirksworth motorcycle champion Ash Stone has made an impressive start to the 2015 season.

Stone won the EMRA 600 Roadstock championship last year and has now progressed to the toughter ThundersportGB Pre-National Sport 600 series, where he has already made his mark with a flurry of good results at Cadwell Park last weekend.

Saturday’s race one saw Stone secure his first podium and a third place finish, followed by a fifth in race two despite a worn rear tyre.

Sunday’s race one was a wet race and the first time Stone’s bike had been required to deal with such conditions.

Stone said: “We managed to find a workable suspension setup and got a reasonable start and I was feeling good at the beginning but had problems with the visor in the new helmet steaming up, which meant riding with the visor up to be able so see!

“My concentration was not 100 per cent on riding the track and I ended up leading to a highside in Hall Bends.

“The team worked their magic and got the bike ready for race two where we ended up with a strong fourth place finish, so all in all it was a great weekend for Stone Racing.

“Huge thanks to our sponsors, Wayne at Gold Independent Financial Services, Damon at D P Electrical, Mark at Embling Home Improvements, DLS UK Ltd, Dean at Parkside Fitness in Matlock, Tracey at Peak Design and Print and Roy Jervis Ltd in Ripley.”

Stone is always looking for sponsors to help him and his team push forward and keep getting the results; without the support he would be unable to compete.

Anyone wishing to sponsor Ash Stone in exchange for advertisement on his bike and team clothing can contact him by e-mail at or by telephoning 07585 334836.

The ThundersportGB Pre-National Sport 600 championship has all nine rounds televised on Motors TV two weeks after each round.
