sporting students at Highfields School in Matlock spent the day in the spotlight last week.
The PE Association photographer Alan Edwards came in to spend the day with staff and pupils, taking action photos for the next publications of the PE Association of England.
The students and staff responded well all day and enjoyed being in the front of the lens of their visitor. Sessions of football, hockey, dance and rebound ball were photographed.
Meanwhile, one of the school’s sporting stars, Sam Mak, made the opening address at the National Sports Colleges Conference in Telford, in front of an audience of 1,500.
The Year 13 pupil is a National Young Ambassador for Sport.
He has been acclaimed for his efforts in this ambassadorial role. Sam was also due to perform a routine of his chosen sport Wushu but is injured at the moment. He had been selected back in November out of hundreds of hopefuls to be involved and perform. He hopes to be back in action soon.
