The majority of Midlands Regional Alliance sides found themselves taking a break from league action last weekend as the County Cup took centre stage.
They included Cromford who held Whaley Bridge Athletic Reserves to a 2-2 draw after 90 minutes before the visitors hit a further four goals in extra-time to progress into the next round.
The Divisional Cup North also saw a tightly-contested local derby where an own goal from Wirksworth Ivanhoe’s Alex Howard gave rivals Wirksworth Town a 1-0 victory.
The only Midlands Regional Alliance Premier Division fixture of the weekend saw Derby Rolls Royce inflict a first defeat of the season on Rowsley ’86.
Goals from Davy Hamson, Alex Marshall, Ashley Foster and Jordan Simpson helped Rolls Royce to a 4-2 win that saw Rowsley drop to second-place in the table on goal difference, replaced at the top by Willington.
Rowsley, however, exacted some modicum of revenge as Ben Harrison, Billy Lester, Anthony Porter and Connor Hiley scored the goals in a 4-0 win for the reserves against their Rolls Royce counterparts to take top spot in Division One.
Meanwhile, Little Eaton Reserves have leapfrogged Matlock Town CFA in the Division Two standings after the latter suffered a 4-2 home defeat to Wirksworth Town Reserves.
