World champion Liam drops in to coach local talent

Last Saturday saw Jesters Fightclub in Matlock play host to four-times World Thaiboxing champion Liam Harrison.

Liam is the biggest name in Britain when it comes to Thaiboxing and spends 50 per cent of the year training and fighting out in Thailand.

He has never lost to any Western fighter and the few losses he does have were all to Thai opponents. He fights out of the Badcompany Gym in Leeds, the same gym that Jesters Fightclub head coach Dale Wood fought out of during his time on the Thaiboxing circuit.

Liam is heading for his fifth world title as he prepares for his next bout in America in July but he took time out from his training schedule to visit Jesters and run a two-hour session exclusively for the regulars at the gym. The next outing for the Jesters fighters will see Kent Hargreaves fight under kickboxing rules in Barnsley on June 19 and Karl Johnston travelling to Cambridge to fight under Thaiboxing rules on June 26.
