New Georgian Opera is to present an event called A Night At The Opera on Saturday, May 3, from 7.30pm, at The Grand Pavilion, Matlock Bath.
This is an evening of opera’s most loved and spectacular hits in aid of The Grand Pavilion Matlock Bath and The Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust, featuring lyric spinto soprano Meeta Raval, countertenor Oliver Gerrish, tenor John Pierce and pianist Kelvin Lim.
The Grand Pavilion Matlock Bath is a historic concert hall being rescued by the local community, who are aiming to restore it as a leading performance venue for the Midlands.
The Derbyshire Historic Buildings Trust was established as a charity to protect and care for neglected historic buildings, in and around the county of Derbyshire.
The charity helps to save buildings that would be in danger of decay or demolition.
New Georgian Opera’s Meeta Raval and Oliver Gerrish feel the The Grand Pavilion and the ethos of the DHBT were worth drawing much attention to and have arranged for this concert to take place there.
