VIDEO: The Sherlocks search for top album producer at Oasis studio

It's elementary! The Sherlocks - Yorkshire's latest Radio 1 stars - are heading for the big time with plans to record at the studio used by Oasis and The Stone Roses.

They are working with a number of producers to determine who should be at the helm of their long awaited debut album.

The indie four piece - singer songwriter Kiaran, his brother and drummer Brandon, guitarist Josh Davidson and his brother and bassist Andy - were talking exclusively to us backstage before a second sold out homecoming concert at Sheffield's iconic Leadmill.

They are the first unsigned band in 10-years to sell out the venue since the Arctic Monkeys and are being tipped to follow them to superstardom.

The Sherlocks have worked hard, with over 700 gigs to their name, but have exploded onto the national scene in the past 18-months, with their latest single Last Night on the official Radio 1 playlist and recently completing a 23-date sold out UK tour.

This year so far the Bolton-upon-Dearne band of brothers have also had support slots with The Libertines and played at South by Southwest - the world's biggest music festival - in Austin, Texas, guests of BBC Introducing, including DJ Steve Lamacq, who spotted them at Tramlines.

They have a Euro 2016 semi-final night gig in Paris, with festival dates including T In The Park, Leeds and Reading Festivals, then their largest UK tour to follow in September.

Biggest news of all they revealed they are off to the famous Rockfield Studios in Monmouth, following in the footsteps of legends.

"It's where Oasis recorded their Morning Glory album and The Stone Roses recorded Second Coming. Queen have also recorded there," said frontman Kiaran.

"We're not recording our album yet. We are just trying different producers to see who is right for us.

"We've got the songs to make a good album. We jut want to get it out there properly."

Josh said: "It's ridiculous the amount of bands that have recorded there."

Brandon said of a record deal: "We're talking to all the big boys. We are just waiting for the right deal.We have ben grafting for the past six years so we want to get it right with the right label to drive us skywards."
