The stage is set for another Festé arts extravaganza later this year.

Derby’s outdoor stage is once again set for the city’s popular post-summer annual extravaganza of live performances and breath-taking acts that are guaranteed to entertain.

Derby Festé 2013 will take place this year on September 27-28 and will be produced and presented by Without Walls in association with Déda, Derby LIVE and Quad.

Since this annual cultural highlight started in 2007, Derby Festé has established itself as one of the best UK street-arts festivals and has attracted some of the highest quality acts, from across the UK and abroad, to the city’s streets.

Organisers of Derby Festé 2013 have announced that the headline act for the Friday evening will be the amazing As The World Tipped performance by Wired Aerial Theatre, which will be shown on Bass Recreation Ground.

This aerial show tells a powerful tale of ecological crisis in a real life disaster movie in the sky on a precariously moving screen and platform.

Set to music against a striking stage set up, As The World Tipped lasts around 45 minutes and will bring with it exactly the right level of eye-catching and explosive entertainment to kick-start the whole festival and the family fun of the next day.

Tickets for As the World Tipped start at £5 each or £15 for a family of four and can be obtained via and All other Festé events are free.

Also programmed, and returning for another year, will be the Splash Stage which showcases some of the best talent in Derbyshire.

A full line-up of acts and events for the whole weekend will be announced shortly, and further details will also appear at

Keith Jeffrey, director of Quad, said: “The atmosphere which surrounds Festé is second-to-none and has become an eagerly anticipated fixture on the city’s cultural calendar.”

Stephen Munn, director of Déda, added: “Festé 2013 promises to be a hugely spectacular affair with the presentation of As The World Tipped, a stunning show that has toured round the world featuring massive digital projections, aerial performers and the tallest crane ever to suspending a mind-bending vertical stage.

“I am delighted that Derby Festé has secured a three-year partnership with Without Walls, the UK’s leading outdoor festivals organisation, which guarantees that the best in outdoor live theatre and performance will be coming to Derby through to 2015 – so lots to look forward to this year and beyond.”

Peter Ireson (director of Derby LIVE) said: “Once again, this September, prepare to be entertained, amazed and surprised.”
