Annual sci-fi event to return to Quad

Edge-Lit, Derby’s annual science-fiction, fantasy and horror writing day, returns on July 19 at Quad with its third instalment, and the full-line up of authors is now confirmed for the event.

With a host of UK talent from across three genres, the day will present a packed programme of panels, readings, workshops and more. The guests of honour for the event have been confirmed as Joe Abercrombie and Charles Stross.

Joe Abercrombie is the author of the First Law fantasy novels, which have made him one of the most significant names in the field. He has been shortlisted for both the John W. Campbell and David Gemmell Legend Awards, and his new series with HarperCollins begins with the forthcoming Half a King. Charles Stross is a leading author of science-fiction and horror, and is a multiple winner of both the Hugo Award and the Locus Award. His existing series include The Laundry Files, The Merchant Princes and Saturn’s Children.

Joe and Charles will be joined by nearly 20 other speakers. Doors open at 10am for an 11am start. Tickets are £25, including access to all activities on the day. See
