Booker event screened at Quad

There is a chance to join this year’s Man Booker Prize shortlisted authors live from the Southbank Centre in London the night before the winner is decided.

An Evening with the Man Booker Prize 2012 Shortlist will be screened live via satellite in Quad Cinema in Derby on Monday, October 15.

The authors from the 2012 shortlist will be reading and discussing their work on the eve of the prodigious award and £50,000 prize.

The shortlisted authors are: Tan Twan Eng for The Garden of Evening Mists; Deborah Levy for Swimming Home; Alison Moore for The Lighthouse; Will Self for Umbrella; Jeet Thayil for Narcopolis; and Derbyshire’s own Hilary Mantel for Bring up the Bodies.

The live event, chaired by Radio 4’s James Naughtie, promises to be a lively discussion as well as a unique opportunity to see and hear these outstanding writers. An Evening with the Man Booker Prize 2012 shortlist takes place in QUAD on Monday 15th October from 7:15pm and tickets are: £9, or £8 Concessions.
