Crazy golf with a twist at arts centre

Crazy golf with an artistic twist will be coming to arts centre Quad in Derby later this month.

Quad Gallery will be transformed into an artist-designed indoor crazy golf course.

Artist Doug Fishbone’s Adventureland Golf is a crazy-golf styled course consisting of nine holes, each designed by some of the UK’s most celebrated contemporary artists, including: Jake and Dinos Chapman, David Shrigley, Gary Webb, Brian Griffiths, Jonathan Allen, Pete Fowler, Ian Monroe, Zatorski and Zatorski, not to mention Doug Fishbone.

The artist-designed holes range from statements on politics and life and death, to fun challenges.

Doug Fishbone’s Adventureland Golf is suitable for anyone from experienced golfers to families, and there will be tournaments, a leader-board and prizes for the lowest score.

Quad Gallery will have extended opening hours every evening during the exhibition, for floodlit indoor late night golf, from 6pm until 8pm.

The exhibition is open daily from 11am, and 12noon on Sundays.

The exhibition kicks off with a one-off launch event, Quad’s inaugural (and probably only) ‘Open Masters Non-Invitational Golf Tournament Championship Classic’.

This will be taking place on Saturday, August 31, from 4pm until 8pm.

Doug Fishbone and Friends: Adventureland Golf Exhibition will be at Quad Gallery from August 31 until September 15.

The exhibition entrance cost (including ball, putter and scorecard) is £2 per person or £5 for a family ticket.
