Exhibition makes a good impression

GALLERYTOP at Rowsley opens its new exhibition Small Print: Big Impression on Saturday, September 3.

This is an international showcase of contemporary fine art printmaking, presenting artists from across the UK and as far afield as the US and New Zealand.

A diverse range of printmaking techniques are represented including etching, lithography, and relief work as well as digital prints. The unique characteristic of the exhibition is the small scale of the prints with no image size larger than 100 square cms. The exhibition features 150 pieces by over 100 artists which have been selected by a panel of professional curators and printmakers.

To give you a insight into printmaking, a printmaking workshop will be run at the Level Centre in Rowsley, just across the road from Gallerytop. Leicester Print Workshop will be demonstrating how to make a drypoint print and you are encouraged to get hands-on and produce your own print.

This is a free ‘drop-in’ workshop exclusively for gallerytop customers and visitors and runs between 11am-4pm. You’ll have the opportunity try your hand at printmaking after having been inspired by the work on show at the gallery.
