Skating legends take to the ice

OLYMPIC ice skating legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean will perform at Nottingham’s National Ice Centre on Thursday, June 28.

They will be appearing with the Olympic flame in an Ice Gala, from 5.15pm onwards.

The Ice Gala will feature over 250 skating stars from the National Ice Centre and will include music, group and solo routines from short track speed skaters and synchronized skaters as well as ice hockey, figure and ice dance performances.

Skaters from as young as five years old will be taking part and both the Lace City chorus and brass band Hucknall and Linby Mining Community Brass have been booked for the event.

Tickets are now sold out. However, a small number of online competitions have been set up giving people the chance to win tickets to the event. For more information visit
