Fans of folk music are in for some treats at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre over the next month.
On Wednesday, September 28, traditional Irish duo Hayes and Cahill will perform their music.
Having met during the 1980s and forming the jazz/rock/fusion band Midnight Court, three albums followed featuring their collaborations.
Hayes is a musical prodigy, the son of PJ Hayes and nephew of Paddy Canny, both highly respected fiddlers. Cahill is considered one of the world’s finest guitarists in traditional Irish music.
Also at the Pavilion Arts Centre will be Keston Cobblers Club on Friday, September 30.
Based on folklore but filled to the brim with a modern kick, Keston Cobblers Club’s music revives the legacy of the old struggling Cobbler of Keston and his foot-stamping, shoe-scuffing music club. With beautiful harmonies, an oompah tuba line and a mish-mash of other instruments, the Cobblers gives you catchy, contemporary pop folk music to tap along to!
Tickets are priced at £16.50 for Martin Hayes and Dennis Cahill and £14.50 for Keston Cobblers Club. To buy tickets call the box office on 01298 72190 or visit www.buxtonoperahouse.org.uk
