With a poet’s heart, Luka Bloom is regarded as one of Ireland’s best-respected contemporary folk artists.

He has produced 20 albums since the 1970s and continues to push the boundaries of his music.

His 2012/13 Heartman Tour proves he is still making provocative, poetic music that delves deep into the intricacies of the human soul.

Luka will be at Buxton’s Pavilion Arts Centre on Saturday, May 28, headlining a new mini festival over the bank holiday weekend.

The festival, entitled 3 Days In May, will feature US acoustic blues singer-songwriter Eric Bibb on the Friday and Denmark’s toe-tapping eight-piece folk group Habadekuk on the Sunday.

Like many who write songs, Luka’s orchestra of choice is the guitar. What makes his career a little different is his constant search for a new voice through his instrument. Time, effort and a whole lot of love bring forth new voicings, and bit by bit, songs like Byron Bay, San Francisco, Hamburg, or even Doolin are borne.

Luka’s support will be 20-year-old Derby rock-chick HARRIET! The songstress has stirred up lots of attention following performances at Y Not Festival and Osfest.

Tickets for 3 Days in May are priced at £16.50 for Luka Bloom, £16 for Habadekuk and £29.50 for Eric Bibb & Band. The venue is offering a special offer, if you book for two concerts get 10% off, or book all three concerts and get 20% off you total booking.
