A gem of an open-air show will unfold against the backdrop of a popular tourist attraction.

Treasure Island will be staged at Creswell Crags on Thursday, July 30, at 7pm.

Michael Crane, events and communications coordinator at Creswell Crags said: “Don’t forget to bring a picnic and your sea legs and come and enjoy Treasure Island with us!”

This tale of pirates, treasure and treachery features a cast of three actors playing all the characters - including the infamous Long John Silver.

The production is in the hands of The Pantaloons, an English touring theatre company specialising in open-air productions. Their works draw from a wide variety of popular theatre traditions, from pantomime to stand-up comedy and silent movies. They are known for their anarchic retellings of classic works such as Bleak House and The Canterbury Tales.

Tickets for Treasure Island cost £12.50 (adults) and £7 (children). Call 01909 720378.
