Matlock Bath theme park Gulliver’s is set to hold its first every Toddler Plod to raise money for a children’s charity later this year.
The Toddler Plod will see hundreds of toddlers step out on a short sponsored walk on Thursday, September 25, at 12 noon, to raise money for Pod, a charity that organises children’s ward entertainment in hospitals up and down the UK.
Plodding will consist of five stages of around 50 metres each, led by members of the Gully Gang. It will start with Gilly’s Gentle Plod to get little legs started, before children will be challenged to plod like a piggy, a lion (roaring all the way!) and an elephant waving its trunk in the air. Then, Gully’s Grand Plod will see toddlers toddle in procession to the finish line.
The park will be open from 11am on the day of the plod for registration plus entertainment, music, dancing, face painting, character appearance and more.
Families are welcome to enjoy theme park fun after taking part in the event. Specially selected rides will be open just for little ones from 12.30pm, with some of Pod’s popular entertainers on hand to add an extra dose of fun to the special day.
All proceeds from the Toddler Plod, which is taking place at all three Gulliver’s locations in Warrington, Matlock Bath and Milton Keynes on the same day, will be donated to Pod to bring smiles to the faces of children in hospital.
Each child participating in the Toddler Plod will receive a certificate, a commemorative award and a fantastic prize pack filled with loads of goodies.
A spokesperson said: “The Toddler Plod is set to be a huge day out for under 5s so we’d love you to get involved and help us to raise lots of money for a wonderful cause - just £5 is enough to pay for one child’s smile in a hospital near you!
It costs just £2 to register at www.gulliversfun.co.uk or www.toddlerplod.co.uk
