Lord and Lady Manners are to host their first live classical concert in their 900-year-old home at Haddon Hall.

Internationally-acclaimed soprano Nicki Kennedy and award-winning musicians The Brook Street Band come together at Haddon on the evening of Friday, June 5, to perform in the impressive backdrop of the Long Gallery.

Featuring music by major composers of the 17th and 18th century, around whom The Brook Street Band and opera legend Nicki Kennedy centre much of their work, the evening features pieces by Handel, Purcell, Corelli and Bach.

The Brook Street Band is an all-female group made up of Baroque violins and cello and harpsichord, will use the inspiration of the historic Long Gallery at Haddon – where for centuries the Manners family have enjoyed private music recitals – to perform their music.

Nicki Kennedy is adding the venue to her varied and impressive portfolio of performance locations, from Kings College in Cambridge to Provence, and even Los Angeles.

She said: “The beautiful backdrop of Haddon Hall will suit this operatic and theatrical programme down to the ground. We are really looking forward to coming, taking our audience on a journey through the emotional highs and lows of the Baroque operatic world.”

Limited tickets cost £58 per person and include drinks and canapés in the Tudor walled garden before the concert starts at 7pm.
