Buxton Festival, which begins next week, will again feature music in the Pavilion Café.
The run of concerts will include one inspired by Jazz at the Movies on Sunday, July 10, from 9pm.
Jazz at the Movies is a jazz group which was formed specifically to interpret movie themes and soundtrack songs taken from a wide-range of silver screen sources both familiar and obscure.
Their refined dramatic and jazz sensibilities produce sounds that celebrate the meeting point of songcraft and swingcraft, earning the band a reputation for vibrant music, deep repertoire and droll presentation.
Jazz at the Movies have become a regular sell-out at Ronnie Scott’s, St James Theatre, the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room and many jazz clubs, theatres and Arts Centres throughout the UK.
Music in the Café featuring other nationally renowned jazz and folk singers and musicians will also take place on July 9 , 15,16, 21 and 22.
Tickets for these popular and relaxed concerts cost £20.
The festival, which runs from July 8 to 24, features an array of fascinating talks, opera, concerts and recitals.
