A murderous tale about sibling rivalry out of control is set to leave audiences at Buxton Opera House on the edge of their seats.

Simon Willams’ gripping and unpredictable thriller Double Death will be performed at the Water Street venue on Monday September 8 and Tuesday September 9 at 7.30pm, and Wednesday September 10 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

An isolated house on the cliffs of north Cornwall sets the stage for a rivalry between identical twins Max and Ashley Hennessy which is nearing a murderous climax.

They both know one of them must die, but trapped in his wheelchair, Ashley knows the odds are now against him and he is in mortal danger – however does DI Fergus believe him?

And can he trust Nurse Malahide, who has been employed to protect him?

Poor Lalla, the twins’ aunt, is torn between the two boys: which of them is the victim and which is the psychopath?

Perhaps they have done it again – pulled off the final “switch”.

Double Death features an all-star cast of former soap stars led by Brian Capron, famous for playing one of the top TV villains of all time, serial killer Richard Hillman in Coronation Street.

Joining him on the opera house stage will be Andrew Paul, best known for playing PC Dave Quinnan in the long-running ITV police drama The Bill, alongside former co-star Kim Tiddy, who also played Heidi Costello in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks.

Tickets for Double Death, priced at £13 and £16, with discounts available, can be purchased in person at the Buxton Opera House box office, by calling 0845 127 2190 or online via their website
