Karl Hyde, more widely known as one half of electronic music duo Underworld, will be live at Derby arts centre Quad.

He will be performing a live improvised soundtrack to a new film he has co-produced called The Outer Edges.

The Outer Edges looks at the bleak industrial outer edges of Essex, and Hyde will be performing live with musicians Leo Abrahams and Peter Chilvers - who are regular collaborators with Brian Eno.

Karl Hyde: The Outer Edges takes place on Saturday, November 16, at 7.30pm and is one of a series of music events in Quad called Derby Beat.

Derby Beat is designed to pick up on themes about Derby life and is co-produced with UK music promoter Kate Walters and supported and part-funded by the New Music Plus

scheme for emerging event producers, developed by PRS Foundation.

The series Derby Beat was launched with a performance by DJ Yoda at Derby Festé in September, and will continue in Quad into the summer of 2014.

Tickets for Karl Hyde: The Outer Edges at Quad are £12, or £10 concessions. For more information about the films or to book online , please see www.derbyquad.co.uk/film/karl-hyde-underworld-outer-edges-live
