Tickets have gone on sale for a special concert inNottingham by the Royal Air Force that will salute the indomitable spirit of the Dambusters Generation.
Called Encore! A Salute to the Dambusters Generation, the show at the Royal Concert Hall, on Thursday, October 17, will feature a stirring musical programme.
Classic wartime film themes such as The Dambusters March and Bridge Over The River Kwai will feature alongside 1940s big band numbers made famous by World War Two entertainers such as the Andrews Sisters and Glenn Miller.
The concert, staged in support of the RAF Charitable Trust, will be compered by BBC Radio Two broadcaster Alan Dedicoat and will feature the Band of the RAF Regiment, the Band of the RAF College plus the big band sound of Swing Wing. The conductor will be Wing Commander Duncan Stubbs.
