Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds
Adrian Edmondson and the Bad Shepherds

comedian turned musician Adrian Edmondson brings his popular live band The Bad Shepherds to the Darwin Suite at Derby’s Assembly Rooms on Saturday, November 12, from 8pm.

The band has built up a fine reputation on the live scene in the last few years for playing punk songs on a wide collection of folk instruments.

But this is not comedy music. The band takes the songs seriously. They are just presented in a slightly different way.

They perform songs by the likes of The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Stranglers, The Jam, Sham 69, The Undertones, The Ramones, The Buzzcocks, The Specials, Talking Heads, and many others, including even Kraftwerk.

Most of the songs are given a decidedly Celtic feel with the odd reel and jig plus a touch of thrash for good measure.

Adrian Edmondson plays mandolin with Troy Donockley on uileans pipes and bouzouki, and Andy Dinan on fiddle. Support on the night comes from Samantha Crain.
