The Ann Duggan Band will play The Red Lion as part of Wirksworth’s ‘Roots’ Festival on Friday, September 23.

For the past ten years, Ann Duggan has slowly but surely been building a sizable following on the UK music scene.

She has established herself as one of the most distinctive voices on the U.K live circuit, gigging extensively throughout the country to increasingly enthusiastic crowds. A

nn’s voice has taken her from the East Midlands to Chicago and the Mississippi. Along the way she has formed her own band and recorded three celebrated albums.

Ann Duggan and her band continue to perform across the country, bringing their own style of music to new audiences.

The new tour that gets underway this month also comprises songs from some of Ann’s female influences. It is a rollercoaster of a show that should not be missed.

Meanwhile, Saturday, September 24, brings a chance to see one of the finest blues roots singer songwriters in the music business, at the same venue, as part of the Roots Festival.

Derrin is a virtuoso acoustic guitarist who makes a six-string sound like several guitars. He combines this with powerful delivery of self-penned songs mixed with his own interpretation of some well known standards from the likes of Bob Dylan, Tom Waits and Bruce Springsteen.

Anyone who has been lucky enough to catch one of Derrin’s performances goes away amazed at his incredible playing skills.

Tickets for Derrin Nauendorf’s performance are £6 in advance or £7 on the door. Tickets are available from the venue via and Matlock Music Shop.
