Becoming Apollo

Need a way to work off that Christmas turkey? Then why not head down to the Out of Town, Ripley, on Tuesday, December 27.

Local promoters Deafbox Promotions are running the Rock Off The Turkey Festival, a half-day event showcasing some of the areas most talented bands.

Kicking the post-Christmas party off are Derby-based Hand Of Hearts, offering a nice, steady acoustic performance to warm the crowd up. Next on the bill are Artifex, playing thrash/metal music. The third band of the night will be local boys Psychopathic Tendancies. These pop-punkers will throw down some epic guitar rifts and great drum beats.

Next on are relative newcomers Buried By Atlantis. Making a firm name in the Derby music scene, this is their first gig in Ripley. The penultimate band are Ripley lads Becoming Apollo. With a firm fanbase, they are sure to put on a performance to leave the crowd wanting more. Topping off the event are Ripley Battle of the Bands 2011 winners Okapi. After a short break from Ripley, the quartet are back to deliver a whole host of new songs, plus all the classics they’ve performed in the past. Doors open at 5.30pm and entry is only £3.
