THE Tideswell Arts Festival hosts the award-winning Guelph Chamber Choir from Canada on Saturday, July 14.
The concert, in the magnificent setting of St John the Baptist Church, comes to the village as part of the Buxton Festival Fringe.
The choir presents an engaging concert of music from classical repertoire to arrangements of African-American spirituals and popular Canadian folk songs.
Competitors in this year’s Llangollen International Eisteddfod, the choir is coming to Tideswell as part of its tour of England and Wales.
At 40 voices strong the choir holds close to the ideals of chamber singing: lightness and clarity of tone, subtle blending of developed voices, and clear communication of the meaning and spirit of both text and music. T
The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5 (child free, concessions £4). Tickets from Tideswell Post Office. Bookings can be made through firstname.lastname@example.org or on 01298 871063.
