WITH the reformed Stone Roses gearing up for three reunions at Manchester’s Heaton Park in June , what better time to catch top tribute act The Clone Roses when they come to Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms on Friday, May 11.
These four lads from the North West of England have been playing at sold out venues across the UK for almost a decade, delighting crowds with their uncannily accurate recreation of a classic Stone Roses gig.
They’ll take you back to 1989, when the Roses were at the peak of their powers, and Fool’s Gold spent 14 weeks in the UK charts. The band’s attention to detail is admirable, from the clothes and paint-spattered instruments to the Manc swagger and stage mannerisms, while the musical and sonic accuracy of their performance is second to none.
Support on the night comes from Nearly Noel Gallagher’s High Flyin’ Birdz, a five-piece tribute to the former Oasis lynchpin’s new project.
Doors open at 7pm and admission is £10. Call RAW Promotions for more details on 01332 834438.
